Just as the hardcore online browser developers are dealing with mobile's rise so are casual worlds for kids.

The latest company to attempt the transition between desktop sessions and flexible portable usage is Disney.

It's taken a major step forward for its popular Club Penguin world, launching My Penguin on iPad.

This syncs with the main ClubPenguin.com using the same username and password so players can transfer the items and coins they earn in the app.

They can also customise their penguin avatar with exclusive items and styles in the Penguin Style shop.

Not a load of Puffle

In terms of interaction, four of the Club Penguin mini-games - Pufflescape, Puffle Rescue, Puffle Roundup and Ice Fishing - are included.

And there's an exclusive new mini-game Sushi Drop, which gives players the chance to win coins, bonus items and treasure.

"With the launch of the My Penguin app, we will give players the games and activities that they love most about the Club Penguin experience," said Chris Heatherly, VP and GM, Disney Interactive Worlds.

"This app is just the beginning for us as we provide an increasingly connected mobile experience for Club Penguin players around the world."

Disney previously released a tie-in Puffle Launch game as a 99c iOS release in September 2011.
